Sundarban is the largest mangrove forest in the world. Two-third of Sundarban is in Bangladesh and one-third is in India. Sundarban is recognized as World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1997. It is comprised of Satkhira, Khulna, Bagerhat and Patuakhali.

Sundorban is another world where many kinds of wild lives and species are available. It is also called the kingdom of tigers. In Bangladesh these are called ‘Royal Bengal Tiger’. There are about 300 tigers in Sundarban. Besides there are 270 species of birds, 42 species of mammals, 35 reptiles and 8 amphibians species. The major plant species are Heritiera Fomes (Sundori), Excoecaria Agallocha (Geowa), Ceriops Decandra (Garan) and Sonneratia Apetala (Kewra).

To go to Sundarban, you have to go at Mongla in Khulna first. Then you may go sundarban by launches. There are some kinds of launches like small or big. Anyway after reaching the sundarban launch terminal and coming out from the launch, you can see some shops on the left side from where you can bye food. After a walk on the right side you can see a zoo where there are some deer, crocodiles, snakes, birds and so on. There is a tower here from where going on to the top you can enjoy the natural beauty of Sundarban easily. Then you can enter into the forest. But you have to walk on a pool that is made by wood for easily moving of tourists. Because most of the time the ground is remained wet. Here you are forbidden from cutting any kind of trees and firing anything. You can see many kinds of trees in which most of them are Heritiera that means Sundori. “Sundarban” came from “Sundori”. But you can not see running deer or tigers here. To see them, you have to go to Hiron point that is called the State of World Heritage Site. Here you can see the running deer, tigers, crocodiles in the river, monkeys and different kinds of birds. It located in Sundarban area. You have to go there by launch too.
Now I say you about a friendship between monkeys and deer. Monkeys are on the top of trees and deer are on ground. When monkeys see that tigers are coming towards deer, they give signals by shouting. To hear this, deer start to run to live. Thus monkeys help deer.

Who does not want to see the beauty of Sundarban. So you can make a short or long tour to Sundorban.
